He was born in 1908. Civil-engineer. He graduated from the Rostov Transport Institute(1933). Winner of the State Prize of the USSR and Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. In 1933-1938 – he was an engineer, senior engineer, head of the construction department. In 1938-1943 – he was a Director of the Institute "Giprokazneft". In 1943-1947- He was the first director of the refinery №441, now called "Atyrau Refinery" LLP. In 1947 he was the Director of the "Novo-Kuibyshev Refinery" under construction.
He participated in the construction of objects of oil and gas industry in many countries. Since 1973 – honored pensioner. He was awarded by the Order of Lenin, Red Banner of Labor, "Badge of Honor" and medals.
Working as a director of the refinery under construction he has made an enormous contribution to construction of new process units and putting them into operation.
A main feature of G.I. Gorechenkov was an exceptional insistence to himself and to his subordinates. Compliance with state and labor discipline were his basic working conditions.
An analysis of numerous documents shows that the director of the refinery is not put up with even the slightest manifestation of indiscipline, especially among management staff. So, for a failure to provide a timely payment of a salary, he dismissed the chief accountant Rogachev, approved for this position by the People's Committee of oil industry; for a delay of labor activity he reached the level of a major specialist, organizer and leader. And his first important public order and, at the same time, the test, GI Gorechenkov brilliantly passed.
His appointment as the director of the Novo-Kuibyshev Refinery under construction was a natural phenomenon.
The refinery , which several times is greater than our refinery on a capacity and a number of processing units, with a deeper processing of raw materials, was the flagship of the country's oil refining in the postwar years.
In 1955-1957 G. I. Gorechenkov worked as a chief of the Head department on construction of enterprises of oil industry of the Minnefteprom of the USSR. In 1957-1960 – he was a vice-chairman of the Omsk Council of a national economy of the RSFSR, the chief of the technical management of the Mingazprom. In 1960-1969 - the deputy chief of the Glavneft of the Council of the national economy of the RSFSR. In 1969-1973 - the member of the board, the chief of the head department on processing of gas of the Mingazprom.
In 1973 Gavriil Ivanovich retired, but then he again was invited to service in the Ministry of construction of oil and gas industry and he worked for a long time there. He built, particularly, objects of oil and gas industry in Tyumen region, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Komi ASSR, Checheno-Ingush ASSR, in Iran and other countries.
A labor way of this person is noted by many government awards. For successful performance of the task of the Government on construction of the refinery №441 he was awarded the Order of Lenin by the Decree of Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR dated February 23, 1946.
Furthermore, Gavriil Ivanovich was awarded the order of the Red Banner of Labor, the badge of honor and many medals for great merits , and also he was the winner of the State Award of the USSR and awards of the Council of ministers of the USSR. He was a honorary Citizen of Novo-Kuybyshevsk city.
Work activity of our first director is a bright example of selfless service to the cause, to which he devoted his life.
Rybak Boris Moiseevich was born in 1909 in Rostov-on-Don. Working career of B. M. Rybak begins in eleven years. He works for artisanal soap factory of brothers Rzhevskyi and Renenbaum. In 1923, with his mother he returned to Baku to his brother, who worked at that time in AzChEKA.
In 1924 B.M. Rybak went to work in Bakunion as a courier, and then in Gospromcvet as a apprentice of coppersmith. In 1926, he went to work at the refinery Azneft, which later was renamed the refinery named after Stalin.
At this refinery Boris passed all stages of working hierarchy - worker, laboratory assistant, cleaner, engineer, head of the laboratory, and finally, chief engineer. At the same time he studied - at first in workers' faculty, and then in Azerbaijan Oil Institute, which he graduated in 1932 with a degree in engineer.
Besides work at the refinery, B.M. Rybak always conducted research, teaching, literary work. Since 1932 he has taught in Azerbaijan Oil Institute and in Industrial Academy named after Kirov, and then in Moscow Oil Institute. He lectured on general and organic chemistry. Since 1930 Boris Moiseevich has written more than 60 scientific works, including 6 books. But his book "The analysis of oil and oil products", having a great scientific value, takes a special place in research work. In 1940 B.M. Rybak was transferred to work in Moscow in Narkomneft as deputy head of the technical department, and in 1941, he was appointed Deputy People's Committee of Oil Industry of the USSR by the decree of Council of People's Commissars of the USSR. He supervised refining industry. But in that short time he implemented many organizational and technical measures for development and improvement of production technology. Another important task was training. A significant part of specialists, who arrived for construction and commissioning of the refinery, do not stay here for a long time. Trained personnel were not enough on their replacement. Particularly, this question referred to middle managers. There was a shortage of engineers at the processing plants and mechanics, masters. Director of the refinery decided this question.
He is remembered as a talented leader, as an honest and straight person, as a highly qualified professional.
He introduced into production many improvement suggestions with great economic effect. In October 1948 he was again transferred to Moscow. He worked as the director of Higher engineering courses of the Ministry of Oil Industry of the Eastern districts. A bit later courses were reorganized and were called the Academy. In November 1950 B.M. Rybak was appointed acting director of the Academy of oil industry.
In spring 1951 he was arrested under the article 58/10 - enemy of the nation. Difficult four years dragged at the mine in Vorkuta. Here he damaged his health. In 1954 he was rehabilitated and restored to work. His last years he was engaged in science and teaching at the university.
He is an engineer-technologist on oil and gas processing, a graduate of the Azerbaijan Industrial Institute. After his graduation in 1935 -193 he worked at the Baku cracking plant and at the plant "26 Baku commissars" on various engineering and technical positions.
According to the order of Narkomneft in 1940 – 1942 he worked as chief engineer of Constantinople Refinery named after Mendeleev in Yaroslavl city.

From 1948 to 1954 he worked as the Director of the Guryev refinery. He was the sole leader with thirteen years of experience in four labor groups, he did not need to learn the art of management.
From the first period of work, he skillfully began to carry out major organizational and technical measures to improve production activities. There was acute problem with personnel, repair service. Many workers of the refinery were sent for training, professional development on the related refineries. In his work he paid much attention to social issues. In 1949 it was built the Palace of Culture, the stadium. Before this it was built a summer cinema. Also for workers it was built the recreation center 30 km away from the city and the summer camp for children of refinery workers. The refinery is constantly engaged in landscaping of the residential town – district, where refinery workers lived. Under the guidance of Kabanov A.F. considerable amount of work, directed to the benefit of refinery workers and residents was performed.
In 1954 he was appointed the deputy minister of oil industry of eastern regions. In years of the soviet national economy Kabanov A.F. worked as the head of research institutions, in 60 years - the deputy chairman of the State Committee on Coordination of research works of refining industry. After recovery of the industry he was in overseas trip.
Labor way of Kabanova A.F. was awarded by the Order of the Red Banner, two Orders "Badge of Honor", medal "For valorous work in the Great Patriotic War."

Inflation began in the country, deliveries were broken , the level of production began to decline, most necessary consumer goods disappeared from uses .
In these conditions, the first head managed to show remarkable organizing abilities and found ways out of difficult situations. The refinery was not excluded from the solution of economic problems, which are typical for the late 80s. So, production lines of liquid detergents, shampoos were put into operation.
With the collapse of the USSR economic links turned out to be broken. There were problems of finding trading partners, suppliers, market of finished products, acquisition of raw materials. Problem of reconstruction of the refinery was acute and search of partners, who can invest in the project of reconstruction was begun.
Gafner V.V. made every effort to save the team and refinery from collapse. He was able to rally the team during the transition of economy to market relations. In many ways, this was facilitated by the reconstruction of the refinery, designed to upgrade the technology of processing of local oils. The refinery had managed to maintain its basic positions.
